Jacksonville Jaguars @ Pittsburgh Steelers
1:00 pm EST, CBS
Preview:
The Steelers are where most expected them to be, although the Jaguars remain an unlikely opponent due to their underwhelming offense and more directly, errant quarterback play. The Jaguars will have to rely heavily on their running game to have any semblance of scoring efficiency, which will naturally require the Steelers to bring additional pressure in run defense. This would normally be an idyllic scenario for play-action passing, but with the inconsistent Blake Bortles at quarterback, it’s probably a gamble to predict success in any area.
The Steelers and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger certainly are aware of the Jaguars’ defensive capabilities, having suffered through the worst outing of Roethlisberger’s career in their matchup in Pittsburgh October 8. Expect a much heavier emphasis on running the ball, which will have added difficulty with the absence of center Maurkice Pouncey.
Key Players:
Jaguars – RB Leonard Fournette, WR Marqise Lee, CB Jalen Ramsey
Steelers – Roethlisberger, RB Le’Veon Bell, S Sean Davis
