From Last Monday Night

๐Ÿ‘ย New York Jets

What a start! Darnold’s first ever NFL pass and play resulted in a pick 6! The script was written for “HERE WE GO AGAIN” another USC QB in NY! What I liked was what happened on the sidelines. Josh McCown got into Jeremy Bates’s face and told him “can we give the kid some plays that gives him a chance?”. The OC did do exactly that, but all the credit goes to the kid. He came back unraveled, unfazed, and went to work!

The Jets totally dominated a bad Lions team and looked like a team destined for an amazing season, but hey! They started the youngest QB in NFL history, so lets relax! Overall the D was great even with some key players out. The future looks bright!

๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Žย Buffalo Bills

You have to wonder what the hell McD sees in ย Peterman! He has started him twice now (probably under threats to do so by DudTheStud), and both starts left us wondering what the hell was that? Peterman is not to be considered an NFL caliber QB. The Bills threw Josh Allen to the wolves, because lets face it, had they won? We would all be shocked! To add to the Bills collection of wounds thus far, CB Vontae Davis quit and retired alway through the game, wow!

I have to say this much, Allen was not great, not even real good, but he showed life and a heart beat, something Peterman doesn’t have. Maybe, just maybe, if they can keep this kid alive for 14 more weeks, the Bills have their QB. The team’s outlook this season is bleak. This is a team that is battling the Cards as the bottom dwellers of the NFL, and I still will not be shocked to see 1-15 at the end. The D has gone backwards, and McD is a defensive guru, or so we were led to believe.

๐Ÿ‘ย ๐Ÿ‘ย Miami Dolphins

Second straight week the Dolphins pass my tough grading system. I honestly thought they get to NJ and lay an egg, because week before the team was carried by the D and not RT’s up/down day. I was wrong, and the Dolphins have improved the D to the point where the unit may carry them to a playoff spot. I still think Gase is not an offensive guru, but this D may save his job.

The Dolphins contained the Jets run game and bent just enough to win. So far they look for real in first place!!!!

๐Ÿ‘Žย New England Patriots

The Patriots got by a bad Texan team a week ago, but their luck ran out in hot and humid Jacksonville. But sorry, that excuse never works, because a loss is a loss in heat, cold, snow or rain. This team looked so badly outmatched, one has to wonder if they do win 11 and win the division. Their schedule doesn’t allow too many weeks off, other than 2-3 divisional games. How good has this team been so far? After two games -4 point differential, when was the last time we have seen that?

In the rematch of the AFCCG Tom looked 20 years older than 8 months ago. Belichick was totally outmatched and outwitted by Doug Marrone, and they have a week to prepare for a bad Lions team. Laying an egg against Matt Patricia would hurt more than just the standings.

๐Ÿ‘Ž New York Jets

Fireman Ed decided to come back, and I wish he stayed away. He wanted Sam Darnold to feel what it was like when he led the chants, I mean what the hell have they ever won during Anzalone’s regime? The Dolphins came to play on D, and with defensive speed they forced Jets mistakes that led to a 20-0 lead at the half. The game plan had to change and the run game had to be abandoned. All the credit has to go to Miami’s DC.

Overall the Jets OL did a good job of containing the Miami D, however the Dolphins played a game of field position to perfection, and the Jets left too many points on the field to come back. Still very proud of the kid at QB, he responded well, and this D, once it is fully healthy, it will be a tough team to beat.
