All’s relatively quiet on the AFC North front today, which makes for a typical Wednesday afternoon.
Here’s what fit to print. Enjoy.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are trying to keep it simple.
My Take: Simple works best for quarterback Joe Flacco, who’s never been very adept at reading defenses or going through his progressions. Good strategy.
Cleveland Browns
Linebacker Jabaal Sheard’s injury may not be as serious as expected.
My Take: Good news for the Browns, who have suffered through some serious personnel losses lately. Getting Sheard back certainly helps.
Cincinnati Bengals
Head coach Marvin Lewis denies the statements he allegedly made in the Robert Sands domestic violence incident.
My Take: Until more facts are known, it’s impossible to make a determination. Given the hot-button nature of domestic violence cases right now, Lewis should be very careful in choosing his words when addressing this case.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Assistant Joey Porter had words for released running back LeGarrette Blount on Monday night.
My Take: The loquacious Porter has never been shy about expressing his opinions. This one was very well placed.
