Lets get down to business:
With the Bills facing their first “big game” in what seems to be years and taking an L to the fins to cut down playoff chances astronomically, how will they respond?
That is a tough one to figure out. The past 2 weeks have been do or die for the Bills as now they are 2-5 in the AFC and have lost tiebreakers to everyone they are competing with. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Bills end up playing flat and let the Jets stay in it, or they get real angry and blow the Jets out like the first matchup. x
The Jets had an impressive win over the Steelers, forcing turnovers and scoring points. Where has this Jets team been?
The jets team has been the same team we’ve had all year. Don’t let the Jets record fool you they were a tough matchup for a steelers team who cant stop the run down its first round linebacker and top run stopping safety. Additionally, when the Jets are busy turning the ball over they can go toe to toe with any team in the league (with Vick).
If the Bills miss playoffs is Marrone out the door after turning the page on EJ?
Marrone made a desperate moving yanking his QB after 4 games to start a journeyman QB and so far it has backfired. The offense is not any better and they are still .500 and not even close to making the playoffs. If they miss the playoffs but are 7-9 or 8-8 I believe Pegula will keep Whaley and Marrone and give them a prove it year in 2015. Pegula did the same thing with the Sabres. However if the Bills play like they have the past 2 weeks the rest of the year, Marrone is a goner.
What is the future for Rex and Idzick? Who stays, who goes?
I think they clean house. I don’t think Rex stays I don’t think he can although I do think it’s a mistake to get rid of him. Too much blame falls on him for drafting incompetent qbs. I agree he drafted Sanchez and for that he is to blame. But nobody will be able to develop Sanchez because he is a mental midget and incapable of reading defenses. Geno was forced up Rex but ultimately falls into a “Rex pick” category. I do think Rex gets a HC job relatively quick and I do think he will succeed contrary to all your “moronic opinions” Learn the game jerks.
It seems the bills have been prone to bonehead plays all season long (from the Watkins fumble, to the Bryce brown fumble, to the Orton “intentional grounding” do you think any of this falls on Marrone?
I believe part of it is coaching in not emphasizing ball security, but part of it in the case of Watkins and Brown is young players making dumb mistakes. What really falls on Marrone is the penalties. The Bills have been one of the most penalized teams in the league since Marrone has came in and it has not changed. This has been a partial reason why the Bills have lost so many crucial games with drive ending holding calls after big runs or stupid pass interference calls that end up leading to TDs.
Last time Sammy Watkins had a big game against the Jets with two big catches of 50+ yards. How will the Jets try to stop him this time?
The Jets are looking to stop Sammy Watkins by benching Antonio Allen. These no name cbs who the jets have (down to like the 6th and 7th cbs) have been playing much better than our 1-5’s strangely. Additionally, I think Jaiquann Jarrett makes another appearance after a 2 pick and forced fumble game. At this point who knows. Watkins is a great receiver so I don’t think you can truly shut him down. But you can stop Orton. The biggest problem with the Jets defense is they don’t play press cover anymore which allows too much spacing for quick hitting routes. So if the Jets don’t tackle properly its going to be a long game.
The Jets offense has been way better since Vick went down to KC. How will the bills look to stop the speed of Percy and Vick with the size of Amaro and Decker
The loss of McKelvin is going to hurt in regards to stopping Percy as he was the CB who had the speed to go with Percy. In this game I expect Gilmore to be on Decker and Graham they will stick on Harvin and hope to get lucky there. Vick will be someone the Bills will need to contain in the pocket and this is where Kiko Alonso will be greatly missed. I expect the Bills to have Bradham either spying Vick or covering Amaro and one of the safeties come up to assist in coverage. If the front four does it’s job, the Bills should not have to worry about any of the Jets playmakers beating them.
The Jets are all but eliminated from the playoffs, what do you want to see from them the rest of the year?
Could care less what everyone here thinks. I want the team to finish with 2-4 wins. Ideally we beat Miami and Buff and both are achievable as long as we don’t turn the ball over. That being said I want them to finish with a top 2 pick and take Winston or Mariotta (Winston being the preference as he is an idiot but a better qb and nobody coming out of Oregon every succeeds in the NFL {for the most part}). If they don’t end up with a top 2 pick and they end up in the top 5 I want Cooper. I don’t know if that’s the smart pick as I don’t know if Harvin is still on the team at the time but we shall see. I cant fathom picking defense again as Dee and McDougle will both be back next season. I also wouldn’t mind if we took a stud OL. Maybe not the sexiest move but there are times this year that the QB just hasn’t had a chance all game due to the pass rush. Mangold has been playing among the best again and d’brick isn’t going anywhere. He is still solid and he’s making too much. The Italian Manmoth
Both Run D’s are elite there is no question. I think the Jets are more versatile in their running approach having 4 backs who all do different things (even though cj2k sucks). Who ends up with more rushing yards?
The Jets, Vick will get their yards rushing and unlike the Bills, the Jets will remain committed while the Bills will only run it 18 times and throw it 40+ times.
I expect the Bills to win this but it will be a sloppy, sloppy game
