The 2014 team building phase will soon be in high gear. There are free agents to sign or part with, contracts to be renegotiated, players to draft, and trades to be made. Some teams also have some significant talent under contract for 2014 that was tucked away on the injured reserve list in 2013. The cap hits of these players are already included in the available 2014 figures. Simply put, these players just need to get healthy and hope they still fit into their current team’s plans.
The players are listed with their 2014 cap charge. Players with cap hits significantly under 500k are not listed, but feel free to complain about omitted players in the comment section.

Before we as fans get into the “what-could-be” for each team in terms of cap and free agency, its important first to know a team’s “what-is”. Perhaps a team can vastly improve without hitting the free agent market, which as we all know, can be overpriced for the best at each position. This year’s Injured Reserve list contains many players of significance as did last year’s. Be warned however. Having great players on this list might give a team or it’s fans hope, but don’t let it fool you. The top 5 teams in terms of cap dollars on the 2012 IR list were as follows: The Buccaneers, Jets, Falcons, Bengals, and Ravens, respectively.
