AFCN: Week 4 Speculation

AFCN: Week 4 Speculation
class="post-date-wrap left relative post-date-mob">

I’m refraining from calling this a “prediction” piece this season. Predictions indicate one firmly believes something will happen and isn’t afraid to stand behind that judgment. In the NFL, nothing is certain except Roger Goodell’s poor judgment. That said, I’ll offer some form of prognostication, even if it’s lighthearted and not entirely backed up by evidence, but I really have no interest in how “correct” I’ll be.

As usual, these picks are for fun and should in no way be used for actual wagering purposes. That is, unless you want to make a ton of money in a legal forum, because we know more stuff and things about football than you do or something.

On to the games!

Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens
Sunday, September 29, 1:00 pm EST – CBS
The Ravens are hoping to regroup after having their vaunted defense shredded in Kansas City last week, while the Browns are continuing to “find themselves” after another week of soul searching and battles with the media. Both teams have wounded secondaries, so expect to see a lot of passing yards and general ugliness in the trenches.
Browns 24, Ravens 31

Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Monday, September 30, 8:15 pm EST – ESPN
The NFL schedule makers surely didn’t envision this as a matchup of winless teams, but here we are. The Steelers hope the maturation (and protection) of backup QB Mason Rudolph continues under national viewing scrutiny, while the Bengals simply hope to salvage a win in their – arguably – toughest environment to play in. The timing may never be better.
Bengals 26, Steelers 21

Eat, drink, watch. Enjoy!.
