Archer Weekly: Brocktober
class="post-date-wrap left relative post-date-mob">

It was another exciting week of football as the AFCE went 3-1 and for the second week in a row, the college team in Miami suffered defeat. It was also a return to normalcy as the team in New England has reclaimed the throne and won’t let it go.

New York Jets

The Jets faced another cupcake in the Indianapolis Colts who like the Denver Broncos last week, are not that good. The Jets forced three interceptions off the King of Garbage time and really had the game under control from the start. Sam Darnold has overcome his early turnovers and is starting to look like the best QB in what is so far a really bad QB class. The run game wasn’t as good as it was last week but it didn’t need to be with the turnover luck the Jets were getting. The Jets are 3-3 and in the middle of the playoff race just like the last time they had a rookie QB from USC.

New England Patriots

The Patriots had the big game of the weekend against the extremely overrated Kansas City Chiefs and some were even thinking the Chiefs had a chance against the Patriots. No, the Patriots had this game under control from the start. The Patriots were so sure of this win that they even let Tom Brady get a rushing TD and gave the ball to some guy named Michel. Patrick Mahomes looked really good but this was by design as the Patriots players were all starting him in fantasy. Tyreek Hill had a good game and even made a friend with one of the fans at the game. The Patriots didn’t break a sweat in this game and they were playing chess while the Chiefs were playing checkers.

Miami Osphins

Before  the game this Sunday happened, many in Miami Nation were concerned. Ryan Tannehill was out and starting in his place would be Brock Osweiler, the guy who was so bad the Browns cut him.  Many quickly went and started the Bears defense as they expected turnovers galore and the Dolphins to get blown out. However Brock was not going to have any of that and played the game of his career, leading the Dolphins to a win over the first place Chicago Bears. The offense looked the best it had all year with Adam Gase not holding things back like he was when Tannehill was playing.  Also Gase decided to start his good offensive line players this year which is something he avoided the prior weeks. There is controversy in Miami as many want Osweiler to be the starter because A) the offense looked good and B) Anyone but Tanny. So it will be interesting in Miami as Gase will be torn who to start. Personally  I would start Osweiler at home as he plays at a MVP caliber in Hard Brock Stadium, something that can’t be said about Tannehill.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills had a very winnable game against a Houston Texans team that isn’t really that good. However the Bills don’t make things easy. Josh Allen was terrible as he was horribly inaccurate and overall terrible and has actually been getting worse, not better. Josh Allen has major accuracy issues and is not something that you can really improve. You can try to scheme easier passes but if you can’t make the majority of passes, you are going to have a bad time. The only QB who has been able to have an extended career despite being extremely inaccurate is Cam Newton and that is because he is also built like a Linebacker which helps as he is actually an above average running threat, something Allen is not.

However Allen was surprisingly not the worst QB of the day. No Allen got hurt and came in Nathan Peterman who might be the worst QB in NFL History in regards to throwing interceptions. Peterman pretty much lost the Bills as he threw a crucial pick six to give the Texans the win. At the time of writing this article Peterman has not been released. Hopefully by the time this article is published Peterman will be released otherwise the duo of Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott are the most clueless people in regards to offense in the entire NFL which is saying something as Jon Gruden is also still in the NFL. This is going to be a rough season for the Bills, but at least they got hockey.
