Bills add CB Graham, OG Williams, LB Rivers
The Bills addressed three needs by signing offensive guard Chris Williams to a four-year contract, agreeing to a four-year deal with cornerback Corey Graham and agreeing to a two-year deal for $5 million with linebacker Keith Rivers. A person familiar with Rivers’ contract revealed the terms of the deal on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t disclosed by the Bills.
Busy start to free agency for Dolphins
New Miami Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey stepped to the microphone and apologized for his hoarse voice, explaining he wore it down in recent days trying to build a winner. Hickey then introduced a succession of big acquisitions in the first 24 hours of free agency — 316-pound left tackle Branden Albert, 300-pound defensive tackle Earl Mitchell and 305-pound defensive tackle Randy Starks. All signed Wednesday.
CB Browner to Meet with Patriots Today
After coming to an agreement with Darrelle Revis on Wednesday, the New England Patriots are set to kick the tires on another former Pro Bowl cornerback. Browner was recently reinstated to the league from an indefinite suspension handed down in December for a violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Decker’s Flight from Denver Lands in NJ
“I’m very thankful for my four years in Denver,” Decker said late Wednesday night from New Jersey, where he finished dining with Jets coach Rex Ryan among others. “I think it’s one of the greatest cities to play in. Unfortunately, I never got an offer from the Broncos.
Unfortunately, he’s downgrading quarterbacks in spectacular fashion going from Peyton Manning to Geno Smith, and will be the focus of defensive attention in New York after serving as Manning’s No. 3 or 4 option. He’d do well to get back near 1,000 yards with the Jets.
