Jake Matthews is finally off the board, going to Atlanta with the #6 overall pick.  Here’s our draft:

Houston – Jadeveon Clowney

St. Louis – Sammy Watkins

Jacksonville – Khalil Mack

Cleveland – Johnny Manziel

Oakland – Blake Bortles

Atlanta – Jake Matthews

Lovie Smith takes over the show in Tampa Bay, and it shouldn’t be hard for him to improve upon the disastrous 2 seasons of Greg Schiano.  The team had a lot of talent left on the roster and lots of cap space to spend, so as soon as free agency started the team began shaping the roster to Lovie’s preferences. DEs Michael Johnson and Clinton McDonald quickly signed along with T Anthony Collins, CB Alterraun Verner, C/G Evan Dietrich-Smith and QB Josh McCown.  The team released veterans CB Darrelle Revis and T Donald Penn, and they traded C Jeremy Zuttah to Baltimore and embattled WR Mike Williams to Buffalo for late round picks.  All the offseason movement has created a better roster, but there are still a few areas of need for Tampa Bay.

The two most obvious need for the Bucs is at WR.  The #1 WR is, without a doubt, Vincent Jackson, but after him the talent drops off significantly with the #2 WR being one of Louis Murphy, Lavelle Hawkins, and Chris Owusu.  Mike Evans should certainly be one of the top considerations for Tampa.  Next on the list of need would be LB.  They have one of the NFL’s best young OLBs in Lavonte David, and a serviceable MLB in Mason Foster.  Anthony Barr or C.J. Mosley could be options at this point, as Lovie begins to build another dominant defense.  Last on the list of needs could be QB.  While Josh McCown has been publicly announced as the starter, he only has a few good years left in him.  Bridgewater could be the pick if Tampa believes he’ll be the franchise QB of the future to groom behind McCown.
