In convincing fashion, both the AFC North and AFC East selected WR Mike Evans for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Here’s the draft recap:
Houston – Jadeveon Clowney
St. Louis – Greg Robinson
Jacksonville – Khalil Mack
Cleveland – Johnny Manziel
Oakland – Sammy Watkins
Atlanta – Anthony Barr
Tamp Bay – Mike Evans
Mike Zimmer is finally getting his shot at being a head coach in the NFL. The Vikings took a chance on the defensive guru, and now he has a lot of work to do to turn this franchise around. Minnesota’s roster features only a handful of bonafide NFL starters, leaving Zimmer and Co. with the task of overhauling the majority of this roster.
The most noticeable area of concern for Minnesota is the QB position. Matt Cassel has been resigned to a 2 year, 10 million dollar deal, which almost guarantees that he will be the starter, and Christian Ponder has never lived up to being a first round draft pick. Could the Vikings see a future franchise QB in Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles or another QB, or does Zimmer begin his reign by building a strong defense? Many options are in play here.
