Winning ugly is still winning and that’s exactly the kind of win Josh Allen led the Bills to on Sunday.
The Good: Dare I say Josh Allen has “the clutch factor”? It’s really early in his career, but he just lead his fifth come from behind fourth quarter drive in 14 games. That’s pretty impressive. He threw some really nice balls on Sunday and some of his plays were just out of this world, particularly picking up that fumble when he tripped on Gore’s foot and somehow turning it into a positive play. Most QBs would just cover up the ball in that situation.
The Bad: Well, letting a crappy team like the Bengals hang around because you can’t finish drives due to turnovers and bad penalties is a big problem. Try that against New England next week and we’ll lose by 40. The poor decision to throw the ball away late while in field goal range could have cost us the game. There were some off target throws and some questionable decisions that should have lead to even more turnovers. It was a game we should have easily won, it should never have required the heroics from Allen and Knox, and the reason it did was some very poor offense for much of the game.
The Ugly: I don’t have anything more to say than this.
On An Unrelated Note:
How big of a deal is Singletary to this offense? Yeldon is garbage, Devin better be able to go next week.
Knox is a big boy who can catch and run. I could watch this all day.
The Bills defense in the first half was stifling. 7 minutes of TOP and less than 100 yards of offense is just crazy.
