Last week former partner, Von Rattenfänger, introduced our very first mock draft, and it was as follows:
6. Jets
Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
10. Bills
Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU
22. Dolphins
Charles Harris, DE, Missouri
On the toilet
Belichick was picking his nose
Some interesting events this week, including some private workouts, are leading me to believe that something beyond the norm will affect our division on Draft Day.
The first move, Maccagnan will trade down with the Browns, moving the Jets to pick #12. Browns will move up to secure Mitch Trubisky.
The second move will see the Jets trading one of the #2s now available (probably #33), along with Sheldon Richardson, to the Las Vegas Raiders, for pick # 24. Basically move up 9 spots.
Stay tuned, because Belichick nay get tired of picking his nose.
10. Bills
Gareon Conley – CB, Ohio State
The availability of Conley at 10 will make McDermott salivate. I realize that this is not a popular pick, and fans want Mike Williams. However some factors making this decision will include, Williams will not be there at 10. Whaley is not making the pick, instead it sounds like McDermott will decide with the blessing of Pegula. Whaley, probably the smarter choice to make this pick, may not even be there on draft day. Bills must add a top 2 CB.
12. Jets
Malik Hooker – S, Ohio State
Gilchrist is still mending, and as soon as he can pass a physical, his contract will be dropped. The Jets would love to add Jamal Adams, however he will be long gone at 12. Hooker has all the tools to excel, and the Jets may get their first reliable Free Safety in many years.
22. Dolphins
Forrest Lamp – G, Western Kentucky
With Harris’ stock dropping, the Dolphins do the smart thing here, and for the second straight year add OL. Lamp will add a lot of athleticism to the OL, smart move, as Gase realizes that in order to have a good second season, Ryan Tannehill must remain upright, and team needs to run more consistently.
24. Jets
Patrick Mahomes – QB, Texas Tech
Maccagnan swallows some pride, and adds yet another QB. This kid has the tools, along with great athleticism to become a good QB at the next level. The Texans will pounce on him at 25, unless a team moves up, Jets will move up. This will mark the end of Bryce Petty. Mahomes and Hackenberg will get tutored by old man McCown, and at some point early to mid-season, one of them will take over the starting job.
24. On the toilet
Belichick continues to wait, his nose now bleeding. The world champs do not really need to do anything splashy.
